…..1874 Northwich Weavers, but it was close. Weavers just pipped long time leaders, Egerton Amazons, on goal difference. The final week of the women’s league went right down to the last match, when Weavers took on Egerton in a winner takes all nail-biter. A 0-0 draw seemed fitting as there had been little between the two teams for several months. However, two high scoring matches on the last day allowed Weavers to boost their goal difference and that was enough to take the title and to ensure that Sarah M won the Golden Boot. Well done to everyone involved.
Danes retained their position in 7th, with two draws and three losses. Whilst the weather wasn’t brilliant, everyone appears to have had a good time and didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits.

The charity cake stall was in operation again and was well used. Over the past few months, we have collected £500.30 for Macmillan Cancer Support – a huge “Thank you” to everyone who has supported this initiative and to Sarah B for organising the collections. It has been really worthwhile, not only in raising money, but also in bringing a social focus to the events. Well done Sarah.
