Walking Football Challenge

25/02/2026

1874 Northwich Walking Football are organising a 10 hour walking football challenge on Wednesday 29th April 2026.

The purpose of the event is two-fold, to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and to raise awareness of this challenging condition.

The event will take place at the Cheshire FA HQ at Moss Farm, on the new 3G pitch. It will start at 7am and will involve members of our men’s and women’s sections, alongside other invited local clubs. The goal is to play continuous walking football for 10 hours. We are grateful to Cheshire FA for their support with this event.

In addition to the match, we will also have information about prostate cancer and risk assessment cards to give out. There will be a raffle / tombola and we will run a sweep stake on the number of goals scored throughout the day.

We are not charging to take part in the football match, but there are plenty of opportunities to donate to Prostate Cancer UK, both physically and online.

We have launched our “Just Giving” page, at 1874 Northwich Walking Football Challenge.

We will also collect cash donations at the event itself, with all the money going to Prostate Cancer UK.

In support of the Non-League Day Prostate Cancer UK campaign, we attended the 1874 Northwich match against Romulus on Saturday 28th March, where we gave out information and collected donations. Thank you to everyone who donated.

So why Prostate Cancer UK?

The earlier you find prostate cancer, the easier it is to treat. But most men with early prostate cancer don’t have symptoms.

Remember 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. If you’re over 50, if you’re Black, or if your dad or brother had it, you’re at even higher risk.

By raising money for Prostate Cancer UK, you’re helping fund lifesaving research, provide essential support services, and raise vital  awareness of prostate cancer.
