Twenty three of our players, with friends and family attended the 1874 first team match against Brocton on Saturday 28th February 2026. As guests of the first team, our walking footballers were invited to pre-match refreshments at Barnton Memorial Hall, before watching the game. It was great to see such a good turn out from both the men’s and women’s sections. Although the result did not go our way (Brocton winning 1-0), the sun shone and it was an enjoyable afternoon of non-league football.
Trying to get consensus across 23 people for man of the match is both a logistical and mathematical challenge, so this year, we held a raffle to determine who would make the decision! Bob D is pictured here, presenting the Waitrose Man of the Match to Craig Pritchard at the end of the game.
The first team are celebrating Non-League Day on 28th March, when they take on Romulus. They are offering half price admission for any adult accompanied by an U16. They will also be promoting Prostate Cancer UK as part of the League’s commitment to the charity and specifically promoting our 1874 Northwich Walking Football Challenge. Walking Footballers are always welcome.
